The foundation of good SEO for your website or for any other website starts with ensuring crawl accessibility, and moves up from there. You have to master the basics of SEO and then only you can proceed further to the next level.

SEO is mainly divided into 2 Categories:

1. Organic SEO

Organic SEO is the seo which does not involve any paid medium to get the traffic. It’s free, long-term and results are fruitful if you know how to do it correctly.

2. In-Organic SEO

In-Organic SEO is the SEO which is purely based on money. You pay a certain amount and in return get the results in a very short time.

So Which one to start first?

Well it totally depends on you. If you have time then I would suggest to start with organic SEO first, learn the basics and then move to In-organic SEO. We did organic SEO first for Mount Woods Studio and then moved to Google Adwords where we run different PPC campaigns to get the desired results.

Now we do both to rank better on google and other search engines to generate leads. You can follow the same. There is no harm in it.

8 Steps For Beginners To Do Successful SEO For A Website

1. Crawl accessibility is required so that search engines can read your website:

In order to show up in search results, your information needs to first be visible to search engines. It is the most important part of SEO. If your site can’t be found, there’s no way you’ll ever show up in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page) & there is no point in having good content.

2. Keyword research to attract visitors & engines:

When you enter the field of digital marketing, all you will hear about is Keywords, Backlinks, website optimization, content is the king etc. These all revolve around each other and you cannot escape without learning these. Keyword research is a very important aspect of digital marketing. Whatever you search on search engines like google, yahoo etc are known as Keywords.

Let’s Say you are searching for “Best Branding Agency Near Me” or “Branding Agency in India” or Simply “Branding Agency

All of these are Keywords. So if you want your website to rank higher on Google or Yahoo or Bing, you should know about keywords and how to do keyword research. I’ll make a different topic on Keywords and How to Do Keyword Research for your website properly.

3. Meta Tags

Meta tags are the snippets that tells search engines bots which type of information is there on your website page. They don’t appear on the front-end of the website but are present at the back-end of HTML codes. Meta tags do help in SEO for your website but not all of them. Each Meta tag has their own functionality.

The most common and essential tag is Meta Description and Meta Title tag.

a) Meta Description

This is very important in terms of SEO as this is the brief introduction of your page. Each page has a different description and in 2020, according to Moz.com its length should be 155-160 characters.

b) Title Tag

Title tag is the tag which you see at the top of your browser. If you optimize your Title tag properly, search engines will notice that and give you benefits for that too.

4. Optimizing Your Images

This is very very important for creative people. We all know how high resolution files are exported from Adobe softwares, Sketch or Figma. Also, we want to show all the colors, our hard work to people but when it comes to websites you should know how to optimize your images.

According to google, your image size should be compressed so that page loads faster. I would suggest you to use the SVG format in your website to get more clarity and decrease the size.

Also, give proper Alt Tag and Title description to it so that it is searched on google under the images section properly.

5. Website Structure and Interlinking

Website structure is the structure which tells us how good web pages are connected to each other. Always keep this thing in mind, a website is for the user, so make sure you structure everything properly and navigation is properly done. There are no missing or broken links.

I would suggest you make a sitemap where all your pages are written, design wireframes, prototype and then make your site live. It is time consuming but totally worth spending.

6. Blogging

Blogging is a great way to keep users engaging. It helps a lot in terms of spreading the knowledge, building a community and self-learning as you research a lot before writing an article. When it comes to search engine optimization, blogs have relatively higher authority and you can easily add your targeted keywords on which you want to rank on search engines.

Best part, it’s free and you only need a wordpress website to start it. There are other platforms too like webflow which is very good. All depends on your requirements.

7. Vlogging

As the video business grows and is one of the most promising and booming industries of 2020, people who Vlog on different niches are getting benefits. On a personal level as well as business level, Vloggers can have an advantage. You don’t need a proper studio setup for this, a camera, a tripod and a good mic can do the work.

Tip: If you record your work process, people will definitely watch it. So adding videos like this and then showcasing the final results, will get you promising results and reach.

8. Podcasts

Another great way when it comes to reach the targeted audience and boom your search engine rankings. I know there are many people who are introverts and don’t know how to communicate or give voice to your thoughts. I think this is the best thing to do. Even Our Founder Mr. Ankit Dhadwal is not comfortable on Camera but he knew that a voice was needed for the company so he took this responsibility and started Podcast Channel which is known by Mount Woods Studio Podcast which teaches about design, marketing and features other peoples too.

So if we can do this, you can also give a shot and see the results.

There are “n” number of ways to do SEO for your website and if you have just started just go step by step, don’t do everything because you will get stuck which I don’t want.
